Seaside.Florida

Sorry for the brief hiatus of blogging. Emrie's most recent adventure was our trip to Seaside, Florida with the Livingston side of the family. It was the first time that the whole family was together in a really long time and Emrie enjoyed getting to know her cousins better as well as learning to not cry when Uncle Cody or Uncle Brad looked at her. She definitely warmed up to them by the end of the week.

Here are the cousins. Gage.Clara.Emrie

So Emrie is her mothers daughter for sure because she loved the beach. She would even let us wade out in the water with pretty big waves and she thought they were funny...didn't even mind the occasional face splash of salt water. She enjoyed playing in the sand and eating it when mom or dad weren't looking.

Here's our little beach bunny.

My mom's sister's family came to seaside for part of the week as well and they all brought their kids and at one point we had 6 kids taking over the place. Oh how times have changed. I didn't get a lot of pictures with all the kids but Emrie had two matching swimsuits with her 2nd cousin Charlotte and we had to get a picture. so here is a picture of the bathing beauties.

We also went into town a couple of times once to get snow cones (don't worry Emrie didn't get one). Kyle gave her a bite of his and she was not a fan.

Clara loved hers...she didn't care what flavor it just had to be blue.

We did some family pictures on the beach one evening in the standard white and khaki garb. We haven't gotten the professional ones back yet but here are a few that I took.

We had a GREAT trip and feel very blessed by the family that we have and are thankful for opportunities like these. It was really fun to take Emrie to a place that has many years of memories and somewhere that I have been going to since I was her age. Here's to many more years.

Emrie Happenings

So here is a little update on Emrie and all the things that she is learning these days. As mentioned previously she has two bottom teeth and according to the doctor is working on her top ones as we speak. Here's a picture of the sharp little suckers.

She is eating finger foods now and unfortunately still spitting when she doesn't like it. At least it doesn't end up on me as much anymore...although I did get some blueberry in the eye not too long ago.

She is still as scared of the camera flash as ever and this is torture for someone who loves taking pictures but it is funny as heck. Here is a video of when her Mimi was trying to take a picture.

She loves playing in the mirror and will often try to grab something that she sees in the mirror to no avail. She also does this thing where she raises her arm and tilts her head especially when she is watching herself. Here is a funny video where she does it...she also keeps seeing me hold the camera and flinches every time.

And lastly our baby girl is going to crawl soon which is crazy. Here she is rocking on all fours.

Hannah's 2nd Birthday

We went home to Colleyville last weekend for Emrie's cousin Hannah's 2nd birthday party. It was a fun party at a splashtown type place and Emrie seemed to like it.

Kyle and I made the mistake of playing the "whats on your head game" with Emrie where we would put something on her head and have her take it off. Unfortunately she now thinks we are playing this game when we put her hat on her head and she promptly pulls it right off. Poor girl is going to have greasy sunscreen head from now on until she decides to grow some hair.

We also got to see some of our good friends the Gonzalez's at the party. Lisa and I were college pot luck roommates and have been close ever since.

Andrew and Lisa with Layla.

Here is princess Hannah (the only picture of her I got since she was busy playing the rest of the time).

Kyle and Emrie with Aunt Shelley, Mimi K and Aunt Ashley.

We also stayed with our friends the Westfall's at their new house in Colleyvile. Here is Emrie with her buddy Klein Westfall. He is two months younger than Emrie.

It was a fun trip home.

steamboat.colorado

So Emrie went on her first vacation to Steamboat, Colorado with the Wardlaw family at the end of July. It was our first long plane ride and needless to say we were a little nervous but Emrie did wonderful so wonderful that people even talked about what a great baby she is...that's my girl!

We went and visited a place called Fish Creek Falls and got a lot of use out of the backpack.

Here is the Wardlaw Clan

Emrie got to do a lot of fun things when we were there like go fishing with her dad and have her first meal in the mountains.

We also discovered that Emrie likes limes and flowers. She also got two teeth and started jabbering a ton while we were there.

We went hiking and had a picnic.

We took the gondola up the mountain.

Emrie and I even got to take a nap on the plane ride back.

All in all we had a great time with family and can't wait to go back.

It was REALLY funny!

I promise that I will blog about our trip to colorado soon but in the meantime here is a precious video of Emrie laughing. We stayed with the Delahoz family, some friends of ours in Denver the night before we flew back to Texas. They have a precious 3 and a half year old named Mia Grace...Emrie LOVED her and found her very funny.

Sounds like Mama to me!

Emrie has recently started babbling a ton and some of the babbles sound like real words. Here is Emrie saying mama.
